Anna Farrell (nee Ryan). Would love to learn more about her origins and background in Ireland, her parents and additional siblings (and their descendants), and would also love to discover the identity of her husband (his first name unknown, surname Farrell).

Facts about Anna's life in Ireland:

  • Was Catholic.
  • Born in 1812.
  • Had a brother named William Ryan (1818-1899).
  • Had at least 5 children, all born in Ireland (exact birth/baptism dates/locations unknown): William Farrell, 1829-1894; Henry Farrell, 1832-1860; Elizabeth Farrell, 1838-1900; Michael Bernard "M.B." Farrell, 1839-1912; James Charles Farrell, 1842-1897.

Unknown information about Anna's life in Ireland:

  • Her exact birth/baptism date/location is unknown. Per her brother William Ryan's obituary, he was born in Ballyboden, Rathfarmham, County Dublin, so perhaps this may also have been where Anna was born.
  • The names of her parents are unknown.
  • Her husband's first name is unknown, surname should have been Farrell per her childrens' surname.
  • Unknown when/where her husband died, but assumed he died sometime between 1842 (the year her youngest known child was born) and 1849 (the year she and her family immigrated to the United States).

Facts about Anna's life in the United States:

  • Immigrated to the United States circa 1849 along with her five children and brother, William Ryan.
  • Lived with her 5 children in Milo, New York approximately 1850-1860.
  • Her son, Henry Farrell, died in Palmyra, New York, in 1860.
  • Lived with her brother William Ryan, and his wife and children, in Palmyra, New York approximately 1860-1865.
  • Lived with her son, M.B. Farrell, and his wife and children, in Saint Paul, Minnesota approximately 1865-1875.
  • Died at her daughter's home in Rochester, New York, on June 3, 1881. She is buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester, New York, along with 3 of her 5 children, and her brother William Ryan and his family.
